Pickup time: 4:00 am – We will pick you up from your hotel around this time, which could be before or after, depending on the final train schedule. If you stay in the Sacred Valley, we’ll pick you up between 6 and 7 am due to the proximity to Ollantaytambo.
After picking you up, we’ll drive to the train station of Ollantaytambo, where you will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes town). The ride lasts 1.5 hours and it will take you through breathtaking landscapes from the high Andes and the Cloud Forest. Upon Arrival at the final Train station, our tour guide will meet you for a bus ride to Machu Picchu, which takes about 30 minutes.
You will get to the main gate of Machu Picchu around 10:00 am, early enough to enjoy this ancient wonder. Just make sure to show your entry tickets and original passports. Once there, you’ll explore MachuPicchu with your Tour Guide, which will take about 3 hours. The visit goes through Circuit 1 or 2 and includes the most important buildings, such as the viewpoints, the Guard House, the terraces, temples, palaces, etc.; you’ll also be able to stop at the best spots to take amazing photos and relax while you take in the fantastic views.
After the tour, you will board the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch (not included), and have some free time in the town. You can either explore the streets, or visit the hot springs if time allows. Aguas Calientes is a very small town, and you can easily walk in 10 minutes from one corner to the other.
Later in the afternoon, you will board the Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo, where our team and transport will wait for you and transfer you to Cusco. If you want to have the panoramic experience, We will drop you at your hotel around 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
